Escondido Center of Self Realization Fellowship

Young Adults Group

Mission

We seek to bring together spiritually like-minded young adults between the ages of 18 and 40 with a shared purpose: To deepen our connection to our true selves through the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda and Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF). In a spirit of fellowship and inclusivity, we strive to support and uplift each other on our journey toward self-realization.

Vision

Our vision is to foster a vibrant, supportive environment where we strive to embody the SRF spiritual teachings in our daily lives, deepen our personal Sadhana, develop long‑lasting spiritually‑rooted friendships, and integrate ourselves in the spiritual community at the Escondido Center of SRF established by long-time devotees. We aim to manifest harmonious living within ourselves and the world around us.

“Friendship is the noblest human expression of God’s desire to show His love to man…True friendship is divine love, for it is unconditional and it is real and lasting.”

– Paramahansa Yogananda

See What We Have Planned!

We are excited to announce that we will have our first kick-off meeting of the year on Sunday, May 4th! Before we kick off our meeting, we welcome you to join the Escondido Center of SRF in hosting a special monastic visit from Brother Shantimoy. He will lead the Sunday morning lecture service at 10 a.m., which will be followed by a time to connect and enjoy refreshments. Check out the details below to see what we have planned for the year ahead!

General Meeting Description:

We typically meet once a month at the Escondido Center of SRF. The meeting format may take the form of spiritual discussion, meditation, kirtan, introspection, fellowship as well as a host of other spiritually wholesome activities.  In addition to these monthly meetings, a range of fellowship activities may be conducted such as hikes, service opportunities, pilgrimage tours, and retreats to strengthen the connection with each other, the greater SRF community, and the Guru lineage.

A Poem on Divine Friendship:

“Friendship is noble, fruitful, holy-
When two separate souls march in difference
Yet in harmony, agreeing and disagreeing,
Glowingly improving diversely,
With one common longing to find solace in true pleasure.
When ne’er the lover seeks
Self-comfort at cost of the one beloved,
Then, in that garden of selflessness
Fragrant friendship perfectly flowers.
For friendship is a hybrid, born of two souls,
The blended fragrance of two unlike flowers
Blown together in love’s caressing breeze.
Friendship is born from the very core
Of secret inexplicable likings.”
